ThermaStor Solutions Inc. (“TSS”) is a Canadian engineering firm focused on next-generation geoexchange and energy storage systems in pursuit of grid-friendly building electrification and, ultimately, decarbonization.
Our innovative, yet pragmatic, solutions harness the full potential from both renewables and waste heat, leverage the latest in heat pump technology and integrate an energy storage system, often eliminating the need for costly grid connection upgrades. Delivering superior building lifecycle performance while supporting ambitious environmental targets is at the heart of our solutions. By integrating advanced hot and cold underground long-duration thermal storage (LDES) with base-building design conditions, we create unique HVAC demand management strategies that can reduce cooling-related electrical demand by up to 80% during peak hours and shift thermal production to higher-efficiency off-peak periods. This innovative approach provides a compelling financial case while ensuring grid-friendly, resilient, and scalable decarbonization solutions.
Our patented low-clearance drill rig enables geoexchange and/or thermal storage retrofits even in constrained urban sites such as underground parking garages, unlocking decarbonization opportunities for both new construction and existing buildings.
Working alongside our partner company, THERMAcity Energy, we bring construction expertise to support the implementation and operationalization of our designs.
